side projects

i try to be creative in all aspects of my life, whether it’s at my part-time job, creating a logo for my mom’s gardening club, art for my partner, or doing the branding for our new remodeling business.

hippos deli jar label designs

at my part-time job as a greeter at hippos dispensary in columbia mo, I’ve been tasked with creating some of the deli jar labels. I start by sketching a plethora of designs, then mock up the colors on my iPad. I then use chalk markers to replicate the design on a chalk sticker label. after creating a decent amount, I decided to propose to the company to hire me as a contract artist and streamline the deli jar label process to printed digital designs. although my proposal was denied, i’m proud of myself for putting myself out there and advocating for the price of my skills!

hippos chalkboard signs

along with creating deli jar labels, i also craft chalkboard sign art for hippos. i’ve created a fun graphic style to promote their daily, weekly and monthly deals. using chalk markers, i combine my bubbly, graffiti and maximalist style to create a welcoming and fun vibe to draw customers. this is a responsibility given to the greeters at hippos stores, and ive begun tasking my other coworkers with the sign art. it’s been a great creative outlet and i want that for others, too. stop by the store to see the signs, labels, me, and stay for the weed!

wsj beam and brick

my sibling jack, my partner will and I decided to start a home remodeling company! we all have great skills that when combined, can make magic happen. i’ve been tasked with the business branding. you can see the full scope of the branding so far, all the notes and research beforehand, and all my ideas as of late. we’re a team of passionate thinkers and doers, driven by passion and grounded by our values!

art for the family

in this slideshow, you can see some of the creative work i’ve done for my family, including a logo for my moms garden club, portraits for christmas, or projects for my partner, will- who i am clearly very proud of. additional project included: a design proposal for Mizzou’s T4LC. although I never heard back from the office, I’m proud of putting myself out there!
